THE 'FUN' TEAM
BEAR TESTIMONIALS
Our athletes work hard perfecting their strokes, starts, and flip turns. They are serious about conditioning, fitness, and stamina. However, when the hard work has been done, there's time spent with friends that will never be forgotten. Most Fridays during the season are called 'Fun Fridays'. Swimmers enjoy games of Sharks and Minnows and Alligator. Between their events at swim meets, swimmers hang out together playing card games, board games, or working together on arts and crafts projects. The Macungie Bears, 'The FUN Team', balances hard work in the pool with fun times with friends and coaches, resulting in special memories for all for years to come.
We asked our swimmers to tell us what they like best about being on the Macungie Bears Swim Team.

“The Macungie Bears are fun because the coaches are funny, I made lots of friends, and I looked forward to going to practices every day. I didn't want the season to end.” - Abigail, age 9
"I liked learning how to dive off the blocks!" - Griffin, age 6 "Friday fun swim was my favorite!" - Cassidy, age 6 "In my first year I knew nothing about swim team and here it is my second year and I was awarded 'Most Improved'...oh, and I love the walking tacos at swim meets too!" - Eric, age 11 "Ahhhh. The Macungie Bears and swim season. As the summer months approach, I start getting happy and excited to return to the pool. The pool is a place that I can not only have a great time with fellow swimmers, but have a guaranteed amazing time where I can be myself. Along with the guaranteed fun with my fellow swimmers, there is the work that we all put in together to swim as well as we can. Personally, I get up at 7 and bike to the park to get there at 8 to begin practice shortly thereafter; but I know once practice starts, we will all swim hard to be able to swim faster. Even though we are swimming and concentrating on that, the fun doesn't stop. Jokes are made, dolphins dives are done, and coaches are stalled to help push off the swimming (sorry Connor for doing that...). Even though delaying was something we did, we always did the work when we were told to and it was all-around fun. I can't wait to come back next season and the seasons to follow." - Kevin, age 14 |
